Columbus Area MENSA SIG News
For Those Who's Interest Varies.
What's a SIG?
A SIG is a Special Interest Group and one of the benefits of Mensa membership is the availability of a wide range of national Special Interest Groups with members throughout the country who share your interests. These groups are voluntary associations of Mensans with common interests, and they exist as long as there is a member whose passion for a topic drives the group.
Local SIGs
We'll make every effort to ensure that the information presented in this section is up-to-date. Feel free to submit an SIG for inclusion on this page - once approved by the Excom, I'll be sure to add it in.
Can We Talk? (CWT)
This delightfully (frustratingly?) unstructured Special Interest Group (SIG) meets almost every Thursday at a Columbus area restaurant. This can be a family activity; if your kids enjoy conversing with adults, consider bringing them along. We gather at 7:30 p.m., and you should feel welcome to drop by when your schedule allows. Fun and conversation usually last two hours or more. Please feel welcome to come for a glass of water, a light appetizer, or a full meal -- Dutch treat of course. We are fortunate to have as regulars many of the Columbus VIPs, Ms who know Mensa. If you're new to Mensa and/or Columbus, this is a great place to learn what's going on. You never know who you will see at CWT... perhaps two-day old Daniel or a prominent attorney from Cincinnati will be there! This SIG is several decades old, and we're always trying to make it better and more appealing -- please share your feelings. For specific details, please consult the Secure website, the current edition of Col-M, or email Jack.

Ethnic Dining
The Ethnic Dining SIG meets monthly at various restaurants. We're looking for new food experiences, and great hole-in-the-wall places to eat. If you want to RSVP for an event or suggest a restaurant, contact the Ethnic Dining coordinator . The meetings are usually in the 3rd or 4th week of the month. Dates/times and locations are listed in the Col-M and posted on the Secure website.
