Monthly Gathering: Saturday, May 17th, 7:30 pm. "A Poetic Look at Ohio's Archeology." Mark Hersman, a.k.a. The Turtle Guy, will offer a hand-on presentation, sharing insights gained over 50 years of archeological work and the poetry he writes about it. He is a lepidopterist, a champion of nature, and enjoys playing and coaching soccer. Mark has also invited us to help him at his current dig about 3 miles from Newcomerstown. It's a sandy layered site, has lots of cutures together, with artifacts dating 100-250 AD. For May's Monthly Gathering, join us at the home of Liza and Jack Farnlacher. Phone Jack (288-1524) to RSVP or get directions. 1 cat present, and she might be a lepidopterist, too.
Can We Talk? (CWT) is on Thursday nights at 7:30 pm. At Tee Jaye's (TJ's) Country Place (4910) N. High St. at Morse Rd.: 885-1383). We've spoken with management about using their banquet facilities on the lower level. It's a spacious area and will allow us to create a rectangular table large enough to seat everyone, a format that has proven so successful in the past. And there's plenty of room around the table so we can move to join other conversations. SO: Look on the north side of the Tee Jaye's building for the signs "Banquet Entrance" and "Clintonville Room". The door will be unlocked and leads to our new meeting place. Ways to reach the TJ's at High and Morse (parking lot is accessible from both streets) -- it's about one mile west of the I-70-Morse Rd. exit. From I-270 (north of Worthington), take the southbound N. HIgh St. exi -- about three miles south. From the west, travel east on Henderson Rd., turn left onto High St., and travel north about one mile. As always, please feel welcome to just drop in, or contact Jack (288-1524), Liza (262-6574), or jack@thnc.org.
